Story Parties
Something Lasting Happens When We come Together to Hear and Tell Stories
…unpracticed, without pressure, with the ease of an expert host guiding the way into meaningful and surprising territory.
It’s Connection
That thing folks have been simultaneously craving and fearing since rapid change, grief and isolation hit us hard in 2020.
Where we work, connection breaks down silos. In social circles, connection brings us closer, supports mental health, and helps us find each other’s humanity. When we’re celebrating, what do we want to do but make meaning together?
Wedding Showers - Birthdays - Retirements
Private Story Parties are curated custom for each group, and typically host 10 to 20 people. We celebrate birthdays, wedding showers, holiday gatherings…
Retreats & Conferences
Story Parties are a process tool that deepen learning and memory. Participants find themselves in possession of tools that boost conversations throughout a multi-day experience and give lasting dimension to the work taken on there.
Team Building - Project Kickoffs
Connection that translates into action over time — that’s the promise of Story Parties. Do people on your teams ask for help when they need it? When the org is silo’ed, what gets people to unify around the goal?
In the connection of Story Parties, we make it easier to do good work together. We pave neural and emotional pathways that catalyze imagination, collaboration, and belonging. We get to know each other in simple but lasting ways. Onboarding cohorts, project kickoffs, nonprofit organizers, student affairs groups…any folks who want to cohere around a cause by deepening their bond can benefit from a Story Party.
Community Parties
We host community parties all along the West Coast. Check out the calendar here.

Why Is It Called Story Charming?
My original business as a story coach and creative strategist was called “Story Charmer.” My work was to charm the stories out of my clients that helped them connect with their customers, their brands, themselves. When I began to gather groups to tell stories together, I noticed that sharing our own stories had the effect of charming stories out of each other. My story brings up yours, provokes someone else’s…and round we go, held in the frame of our group, deepening our experience, and making it so much easier to relate—and make stuff together.
